Janette Lenore Jones

Janette Lenore Jones, age 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 1, 2025.

Janette “Jenny” was born on March 22, 1936, with her identical twin, Janice, on a farm in Henry, South Dakota to Earl and Viola VanSickle. In addition to Janice, Janette grew up with four other siblings: Gerald, Eleanor, Marcine, and Richard.

Janette graduated from Henry High School in 1954, where she was an active member of the Henry Owls Cheerleading Squad, 4-H, and the Pep Club. During her time in high school, Janette met LeRoy “Cork” Jones, who would become the love of her life. They were married on June 18, 1955. Shortly after their wedding, Janette and LeRoy moved to Minneapolis, and in 1959, they settled in the suburb of Circle Pines. Together, they raised three children: Deb, Cathy, and Bill. Janette and LeRoy shared a loving and devoted marriage that spanned seventy plus years.

Janette loved gardening, golf, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was always ready to help others, both at home and during her 20 years working at Trevilla of New Brighton Nursing Home.

Janette is survived by her husband, LeRoy Jones, sister Marcine, daughters Deb Pederson, Cathy (John) Klecker, and son Bill (Christa) Jones; grandchildren Jesse (Mallory) Pederson, Angela Pederson, Kelsey Klecker, Meg Ryan, AJ (Amie) Klecker, Luke (Sami) Schmidt, Calvin Jones, Nolan Jones and Mason Jones; Great Grandchildren Blake and Vernon.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, Earl and Viola and her siblings Janice, Gerald, Eleanor and Richard.

A celebration of Janette’s life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 1 – 3 pm at The Rookery, 7690 Village Drive, Lino Lakes, Mn 55014.
