Janet Lyn Hendrickson

Janet Lyn Hendrickson, of Columbia Heights, MN went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on August 5, 2026 at the age of 72. Her celebration of life service will be held at Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, MN on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 3pm. Visitation will be held at 2pm. Instead of flowers, memorials to the Dementia Society of America in memory of Jan are preferred.

Jan was born on August 13, 1953 to Fred and Terri Olsen, joining her siblings, Tom, Nancy and Judy. She grew up in Columbia Heights and graduated from CHHS in 1971. She met her husband, Jeff Hendrickson on a blind date in Mankato in 1972. They married on May 3, 1975. Jan worked at various places, including Medtronic, K-Mart and her brother and sister in-law's barber shop. Her role as mom to Haley and Jared and later as Nana to six grandchildren always came first.

She loved camping with Jeff, especially their trips to the Boundary Waters and Aitkin. She loved attending Girls of Grace and loved serving at and attending Marriage Matters with Jeff at Living Word. She cherished the friends she made there. She loved to be with her grandkids, whether it was baking, playing endless games of go fish, going to the zoo, park or any of their sports and activities. She was one of their biggest fans in everything they did.

Jan loved God and people wholeheartedly. She was completely dedicated to her family and gave sacrificially of her time to love and serve others. Her faith was at the center of everything she did and she was our ultimate prayer warrior. She had a wonderful sense of humor and found ways to be silly and laugh just like her dad always did.

She’s loved and missed by her husband of 51 years, Jeff, daughter Haley (Brian) Belongia, son, Jared (Alisha Harrison) Hendrickson, grandchildren, Savannah, Ben, Jack, Harper, Nora and Oaks, sister Judy (Rick Johnson) Lindfors, sister in law, Colleen Olsen and many other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Tom and sister, Nancy.
