Jane Evelyn Bork (Erickson) passed away peacefully at North Memorial Hospital on September 02, 2021
Jane was born in Blackduck, Minnesota to Joel and Bertine Erickson. Jane had an older brother, Jimmy and older sister, Gail. When Jane was 5, her mother passed away and the family soon moved to White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Jane was raised by her paternal Aunt Evelyn. Jane graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1955. She then moved to Minneapolis and was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell.
In November1961, Jane traveled to Baudette, Minnesota with a friend. While there, she attended a dance and was introduced to George Bork, who was from Baudette, but also lived in Minneapolis. They married on October 6, 1962 in White Bear Lake. After residing in Minneapolis for a short time, they moved to Hallock, Minnesota to own and operate the local Ben Franklin Store. They had two girls, Kimberly and Susan. Jane dedicated herself to raising her daughters. She was a great cook, who enjoyed making meals and treats for her family and friends. She sewed and gardened. She also enjoyed spending time with her many friends.
In 1980, Jane and her family moved to Maple Grove, Minnesota. She was happy to be nearer to her sister, brother, and their families, her beloved cousins, and many friends. They later purchased a home in Crystal. She retired from Northridge Nursing Home in 1999, where she was a prep cook.
After George retired in 2002, George and Jane traveled around the U.S. sightseeing and visiting friends and family. They eventually wintered in Casa Grande, AZ, and summered in Menahga, MN at a small resort. She loved spending time with her 6 grandchildren and her 2 great-grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband of almost 59 years, George, her daughters, Kim (Chris) Ipsen and Sue (Dan) Shaw, 6 grandchildren, Sarah (Sean) Kelly, Lauren (Doug) Lynum, Alex Ipsen, Brendan Shaw, Trevor Shaw, and Taylor Ipsen, and 2 great-grandchildren, Anna and George Lynum.
