James Patrick Lee Jr.

April 16, 1949 – September 15, 2026

James Patrick Lee, affectionately known as Jim, passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 77.

Jim lived a life defined by service, family, and laughter. As a firefighter, he dedicated his career to protecting others, answering the call whenever his community needed him. He was the kind of person who ran toward danger when others ran away, never seeking recognition for his bravery. To many, he was a hero. To his family, he was simply Dad, Grandpa, brother, husband, and the steady presence they could always count on.

Jim had a gift for making people laugh. Whether it was a perfectly timed joke, a funny story, or his quick wit, he could light up a room and make even ordinary moments memorable.

Jim was a devoted husband to Deb Lee, a proud father to Ryan Lee and Megan Lee, and an incredibly proud grandfather to Hudson Lee and Willow Lee. His grandchildren brought him endless joy, and he loved celebrating their accomplishments, teasing them with his humor, and creating memories that will stay with them forever.

He is survived by his wife, Deb Lee; his children, Ryan Lee and Megan Lee; his grandchildren, Hudson Lee and Willow Lee; his sisters and their spouses, Patti and Mikey Whebbe and Terri and Dave Schulz; and his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Norma Lee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and fellow firefighters whose lives were better because they knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary(Regan)Lee and James "Jim" Lee Sr.

Jim will be remembered for his courage, his generosity, his unwavering love for family, and the laughter he brought to everyone around him. He taught, by example, always showing up when he was needed and putting others before himself. The stories he told, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Celebration of Life

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life on November 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at DeGidio's Restaurant in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
