life story

James Roland Scherrer Jr. was born December 4th, 1957 in Bemidji, MN to James R. and Caroline (Selzler) Scherrer. Jim graduated from Bemidji High School in 1975.

He was a man of many talents; if he could picture a project in his head, he could make it. He could repair nearly anything, and if you needed something, Jim could probably produce it for you from his cache. In addition, he loved to cook and socialize with family and friends. There would be music playing constantly and sometimes hilarious impromptu solos. He delighted in holidays and enjoyed the special decorations. Jim loved animals and found joy in the antics of their many cats and dogs over the years. His family was very important to Jim and he was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. Jim went out of his way to make sure everyone in the family was safe. Jim died at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, MN on March 26, 2023 surrounded by family.

Jim is survived by his adoring Wife Lori, Children, Robyn (David) Fieldhammer, Jarred (Angela) Hoover, James (Crystal) Scherrer, Jennifer (Douglas) Schuebel, Grandchildren, Brandy, Cory, Brianna, Cory, Bella, Connor, Lucas, Amaya, Ashley, Lillie, Jarelyn, Henry, Autumn and Great Grandchildren, Lason and Aurora. Siblings, Robert (Linda) Bergan, Ronald (Sharon) Bergan, Julie Scherrer, Anita (Gary) Hoffman and Ralph (Stephanie) Scherrer. Family, friends and pets.

A memorial service will be held at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, 1 Summit Avenue Center City, MN 55012 at 11 AM on Saturday, May 27th with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorials to be directed to Northwoods Humane Society Wyoming, MN in Jim's honor.
