Loving Father and Cubs Fan

The loss of such a big personality isn't easy to deal with, above all else, Golden loved his family and friends, especially his kids more than anything else. He wasn't always easy, but he always loved.

Golden's Story

James Golden Williams, age 51, was born on June 2, 1971 to the late James Herbert Williams and the late Elizabeth A. (Ward) Jasper in Evansville, Indiana.

He was a happy and cherubic little baby with rosy cheeks, a head full of curly black hair, and crystal blue eyes that sparkled when he laughed.

He grew up in Akron, Indiana and attended Tippecanoe Valley High School (Class of 1990) but moved to Louisville, KY prior to graduation.

Golden leaves behind many who loved him including his life partner, Bluet G. Coy, of Bakersfield, CA, daughters Casiah and Gwyneth Williams, his sister Amanda E. Havlicek (Paul) of Columbia, TN, two nephews Benjamin W. Waldridge (Chelsae) and Hamish W. Havlicek, three great-nephews, Michael, Link and Benjamin Waldridge, one uncle, Larry Williams (Anna) of Evansville, IN and a slew of cousins and friends spread all over the country. Also surviving are mother-in-love Cheryl Greenwood of Hawaii and Bluet's siblings Thomas Greenwood, Mattie Rel and Shruti Greenwood.

He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and The University of Notre Dame football, and University of Kentucky basketball. He loved learning, music, writing and spending time with his family and friends.

He left this world on Thursday, August 11, 2022 peacefully in his sleep. One can honestly say, if you met him, you never forgot his huge personality, amazing laugh, and his dancing blue eyes. Rest easy and in the arms of heaven, knowing you leave behind a legacy of love.
