A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather

At 84, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023, with family at his side in Woodbury, Minnesota.

About Jim

Jim was born in Sioux City, Iowa and grew up with his two brothers, John and Bill. All three boys followed their father's footsteps and became bricklayers, working together in their younger years on many buildings in Minnesota.

Jim married Connie and raised three children, Tracey, Todd, and Kirsten.

Jim retired from the Minnesota Department of Corrections to enjoy fishing with friends and family on Leech Lake. He lived on a houseboat on Leech Lake where he taught many a child and person to fish. He had a kind heart and was always helping others.

Preceded in death by his parents Ed and Dorothy Coleman and brother John.

He is survived by his children: Tracey (John) Fearon, Todd (Kerry) Coleman, and Kirsten (Jeff) Blake; grandchildren: Amber (Meme), Kari Ann, Amanda, Emily (Jeremy), Ken (Alex), Kyle, Kelsey (Cameron), and Kaeley (Christian); great-grandchildren: Maddison, Austin, Javier, Adelyn, Reyna, Luziana, Parker, and Kiera.

He will be greatly missed by all, and his spirit lives on in the lives of family and friends.
