James E. Bragge

James “Jim” Bragge, 85, passed away on August 29, 2023, in North Branch, MN.

Jim was born in St. Paul, MN on March 6, 1938 to Elmer and Beulah (Fitzgerald) Bragge, and grew up in Carlton, MN. After graduating from Carlton High School in 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 4 years stationed in Point Mugu, CA.

Jim spent most of his life in Carlton. He retired to Port Isabel, TX but found his way home again to Minnesota and spent his last few years in North Branch. Special thanks to the Hospice Care Team at Ecumen Assisted Living for their care and support. Jim especially enjoyed attending music therapy with his beloved girlfriend Marie. Although he preferred to listen rather than join in with the singing, he was persuaded to play the triangle and did so with gusto.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, brother Robert Bragge, and sister Lillian Ziebarth. He is survived by his children, James N. Bragge, Randy (Nok) Bragge, and Laura (Barry) Kilner; grandchildren, Randall Jr., Michael, Stephanie, Cara and Danny; great-grandchild Aniyah; and sisters Helen Holsworth, Mary Ellen (Bob) Nicholson, and Joanne (Dan) Miska.

Visitation will be from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service on Sunday, November 5th, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 204 5th St N, Carlton, MN. Military honors at Hillside Cemetery with a luncheon at the church to follow.
