James Chris Lockwood

life story

Passed peacefully after a lengthy and debilitating illness at Maplewood Good Samaritan Nursing Facility surrounded by the caring nursing staff.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald (Cracker) and Vivian (Corky) Lockwood; niece, Glenda May Nelson; and brother-in-law, Richard May. He is survived by sisters, Donna May and Jodi (Cliff) Hyland; nephew, Donald May and niece, Rachel Peterson (fiancée Tom); many cousins and extended family.

Jim served in the US Army during the Viet Nam campaign. We believe that day he stepped off the plane in Vietnam was when his life changed. He just wasn't the fighting type. And killing hurt him deeply. He never recovered. He should be at peace now.

He enjoyed music and cooking.

A private celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later time. In place of flowers, memorials of the donor's choice are preferred.

Jim's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Maplewood Good Samaritan for their compassionate care and support over the last 19 years.
