life story

Jake the Snake-Final Farewell

Jacob Paul Zahradka (6/8/1985-6/20/2022)

On June 20th, 2022 Jacob was taken from us unexpectedly, leaving us with sadness and grief. Both his father Paul and his mother Catherine have also passed. He is survived by his brother Joseph (Minnesota), his sister Sherry (Colorado), many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his dedicated CrossFit workout buddies.

Jacob suffered from a subdural hematoma from a car crash in 2012 that left him mentally disabled and a vulnerable adult. For many years Jake struggled to live with his injuries, and he did his best to overcome them. Although Jake's injuries were severe, he was active in: athletics, CrossFit training, Olympic weight lifting, yoga, and anything healthy. He worked hard to eat correctly and exercise daily.

Jake always had an endearing smile, infectious personality and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Rest in Peace dear Jake.

Cool Hand Jake

"He was smiling... That's right. You know, that, that Luke smile of his. He had it on his face right to the very end. Hell, if they didn't know it 'fore, they could tell right then that they weren't a-gonna beat him. That old Luke smile. Oh, Luke. He was some boy. Cool Hand Luke. Hell, he's a natural-born world-shaker."
