Ida P. Simpson (née Ware)

Age 80, of Woodbury, MN, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at home at 9:05 am Friday, April 18, 2025 in Woodbury, MN.

Born April 23,1944 in Cleveland, MS to George and Bernice Deer-Ware. She married David A. Simpson on December 25, 1963 in Peoria, IL. And divorced him.

Ida moved to St Paul, MN March 2001. She was a retired cook. Goodwill Ind. Peoria, IL was her last place of employment. Ida was a great cook. Everybody loved her cooking, especially her "famous banana pudding" (among their favorites of hers). Ida was always the one people could count on, the strong one. Whether or not you deserved it, she was there, even putting herself last. Whether you needed a place to stay, borrow her car, come for dinner, etc, Ida was there. She loved and always did for her family and others.

Surviving her: daughter, Lamika Simpson, MN. 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. 4 Sisters: Tammy G. Payton, Peoria. Pearlene Parker, OKC. Diane Purifoy, also Peoria. Carolyn Scott, Atlanta, GA. Robinson cousins of Massachusettes, and many nephews, nieces, great and great great nephews and nieces. Preceeding her in death: her son, oldest daughter, one grandson and granddaughter, parents, grandparents, З brothers and 3 sisters.
