About Hud

Hudson Thomas Fleming III passed away on May 1st 2025 surrounded by those he loved.

Hud, known as “Bodie” by his family, was a beloved husband, father, and friend. Hudson spent his time with family up north at “the Farm”. He loved his side-by-side and was always finding new riding trails to explore. Above all, his pride and joy were his grand-babies. Archie Thomas and Frankie Lou were the smiles at the end of a long day and the laughs during hard times that got him through.

He spent 34 years dedicated to Local Union 1 as a bricklayer. He was a mentor and leader, always bringing his quick wit and off-color humor to the jobsite. Some of the most important relationships of his life were forged at work. He would tell you that the highlight of his career was the time he was able to spend working alongside his daughter Natalie. He was so very honored and proud of the fact that his youngest followed in his footsteps.

After a battle with cancer in which he refused to follow expectations, Hudson was finally ready to let go after crossing a final visit and ride off his to-do list. He ordered up the perfect day for that, and was so very grateful to share the sunshine of the day with his family. He is preceded in death by his father (Hudson Fleming II) and grand-parents (Frank and Phyllis Cobb and Hudson and Margaret Fleming). He is survived by wife (Tracey), daughters Natalie (Zach) Fleming and Lauren (Tieg) Waulters, grandkids Archie and Frankie Waulters, sister Chris (Lloyd) Kleidon, mother Terry (Mark) Sparks and many more family and friends. There will not be a day he isn’t remembered and missed.
