HOLMES, PATRICIA (Pat)

H0LMES, Patricia (Pat) was born on May 7, 1949, in Arcadia, Wisconsin to the late Ferdinand Roman and Dorothy Herrick Theisen. She passed away peacefully at St. Therese Home in New Hope, Minnesota on June 7, 2023. Pat grew up on a farm along with her five siblings in Arcadia, Wisconsin. Pat loved her family, her life, and her many friends. Upon graduation from high school, she attended secretarial school in Winona, MN. Even though Arcadia’s population was only around 2,000, Pat fell in love with large cities. She had lived in Chicago and Denver, and ultimately settled in Minneapolis. Wherever she lived, her repertoire of friends grew. As she traveled through her 74 years of life, her smile and her hearty and frequent laugh, at work or play, welcomed people into her world.

She met the love of her life, Shedrick (Shed) Larry Lee Holmes after her move to Minneapolis, and they were married at Historic Fort Snelling in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 14, 1983. After 38 happy years, he preceded her in death in November of 2021. She is survived by her beloved siblings, brothers Robert (Jannette), Jerome (Darlene), James (Marci), Kenneth, and sister Kathleen Theisen Olthof (Don.) Pat had two very special friends, Nancy and Penny, with whom she took trips to California and had many other fun times, and who walked with Pat through her four years of illness and many chemo treatments and surgeries. She loved her many friends through work and life, from her high school friends and first roommates, to her work friends from Multifoods, Money Gram, and Weight Watchers, to her Gold Wing Road Riders Group and her Game Group. All of these devoted friends loved her and supported her as well through these many years. Pat also dearly loved her extended family of nieces and nephews, as well as her Holmes in-laws: Eric, Sharon, John Andrews, and Beverly Andrews-Randle (Levi).

Loved by so many, she will be missed by all. Details on a celebration of her life will be published at a later time.
