Helene M. Gesell, 81, of Bemidji, MN died Sunday, December 17, 2023 in Bemidji, MN.

Helene was born December 21, 1941 in Shevlin, MN, the daughter of Genne and Ragna (Tronnes) Philp. She graduated from Bagley High School. She married William “Bill” Gesell in 1960. They had 2 children, Scott and Suzanne.

She worked for First National Bank for over 35 years. She moved to Bemidji and continued to work for the bank and also for her daughter, Sue at the Ground Round in Bemidji. She enjoyed her many travels and adventures throughout her life with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Scott (Megan) Gesell of Bagley, daughter, Sue (Eugene) Teigland of Bemidji, 4 grandsons, Shane (Cameron) Teigland, Triston (Becca) Teigland, Logan (Ashley Fast) Gesell, and Austan Gesell, 3 great grandchildren, Bonnie and Tucker, and Tatum, siblings, Genne Philp, Lowell Philp, Linda (Ike) Philp, and Bonnie (Jim) Krech, sister-in-law, Mary Philp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Karen Gesell, sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Rick) Gesell, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Betty Philp.
