life story

Loving Brother and Uncle

Age 67. Passed away peacefully after years of battling lung disease with his family by his side. He is survived by his sisters Sheryl Zeverino and Elaine (Huey)Mortel. Also his nephews Chad, Shaun, Tim, Ryan McCoy and Ben (Dana) Ostertag. Nieces Lisa(Cory) Ferdig, Cindy (Ryan) Hoops and Brenda (Chuck) Taylor. Also by great nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Adona Braun and the love of his life Myrna Fitzgerald.

Harold was a very mechanical person learning his skills from his father and enjoyed the challenge of taking Small Engines apart and making them work again. He owned his own business for a while working on semis and changing brakes on them. And finally, a truck driver working as a subcontractor with a dedicated run for the post office. Harold enjoyed camping and fishing especially with his neighbor Glen and talked about wonderful memories created. He enjoyed people and being around them and loved having them visit and firing up the grill as he loved to cook. Harold had a great sense of humor loving to make people smile or laugh. His faith in God was strong and positive always hoping and believing that he would get better and be able to breathe and walk again. He was also grateful for his special friend Sharon who would come to visit and do some cleaning and cook him meals for the week as well as other friends and neighbors who looked in on him to make sure he was all right and ran errands for him. He will be deeply missed!! Harold's cremains will be laid to rest with a private celebration of life being held at the Cottage Grove Cemetery. Fly high and rest in peace Harold. We love you!!
