Grace Turenne

LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, GREAT GRANDMOTHER

Grace Marie Turenne (Kovar) was born in Delia Kansas to Charley and Viola Kovar. Grace grew up on a farm there helping around with many chores. Her elementary school days were at a white school house not far down the road from the farm. For high school she went to Silver Lake, Kansas. Grace then met and married Robert Paul Turenne. They had three children, Lynn, Robert Jr., and Richard.

Grace had numerous clerical jobs when then finally retiring from being a cashier at the age of 72 from Office Max.

Grace loved and enjoyed family gatherings, large and small!! Enjoyed gardening, playing cards and board games with family. Vacation trips were always back to the farm.

Grace enjoyed playing the organ, canning, flowers, cross-stitch and embroidery. She enjoyed going to a dinner theater now and then, to musical plays, to her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events.

Grace passed away from complications with having multiple myeloma. She passed peaceful in her home with family around her.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Turenne - parents, Charley Kovar, Viola Kovar - siblings, Doreen Stone, Peg Spencer.

Survived by - sister Bertha Dunn, brother Phil Kovar - children, Lynn Sheridan (Ed), Robert Turenne Jr. (Kelley), Richard Turenne. Grandchildren - Carri Hess (Steve), Anthony DeTomaso (Daisey), Leslie Weiner (Glen), Jodelle DeTomaso, Robert Turenne III, Jacob Turenne, Michael Turenne, Cassie Brunn (Joel). Great Grandchildren - Jake DeTomaso, Alexa Hess, Mariah Hess, Alysia Turenne, Taylor Turenne, Tristen Metz, Sully Metz, Eylee Hincher, Aiden Hincher, and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life at Lynn and Ed Sheridan’s (20490 181st St NW, Big Lake, MN 55309) Rain or Shine, on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00pm. Lunch to follow.
