Grace A. Sigford

November 29, 1933 – June 17, 2022

St Paul, MN, USA

Grace A. Sigford, 88, of St. Paul, passed away on June 17, 2022 at her home in Roseville, MN.

She was the first-born child to the late Harry and Dorace (nee Robideaux) Clark.

In 1953, Grace married Richard Sigford and they made their life together in St. Paul, MN until Richard passed away in 2004. Some people are lucky to find another special someone, and Grace was one of those lucky people. In 2013, she married Robert (Bob) Sharratt and they lived on Bob’s farm in Ogilvie, MN until his death in 2019.

Grace suffered serious health issues at the beginning of 2020 and as a result was no longer able to live independently. With the help of her family, Grace moved into an apartment with a view of Lake Owasso at New Perspective in Roseville, MN. She loved watching the pair of eagles who nested in one of the trees outside her windows. She lived and thrived with the other residents until her passing on June 17, 2022.

Grace is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Richard Sigford; her husband of 6 years, Robert “Bob” Sharratt; infant daughter, Connie Jane; granddaughter, Bethany Hofstad Kennedy; and by her siblings Harriet Czech, Florence “Peggy” Clark, and Howard “Bud” Clark.

Grace is survived by three children: Elizabeth “Gussie” Geffon of Las Vegas, NV; Krista (Steve) Aspinwall, of Roseville, MN; Kathleen “Katy” (Paul) Fick, of White Bear Lake, MN. Grace is also survived by four grandchildren: Russell Hofstad, Nicholas Koppinger, Andrew Koppinger, and Madelyn Fick; and her siblings: Patricia Jackson, Gwen Carlson, Herbert Clark, Harlan “Butch” Clark, Carol Wadell, and Candace “Candy” Horton, along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Grace held a special place in her heart for the family of Bob Sharratt.

As she wished, Grace was cremated.

Grace was active in several fraternal organizations (O.E.S. and Job’s Daughters) and if an organization needed to raise funds, she was always willing to organize a dinner for large groups of people. She instilled in her daughters the importance of doing for others and helping wherever and whenever possible. Always a role model, she demonstrated this belief by filling laundry baskets full of necessities to deliver to someone in need of a boost. Her generosity is carried on through her family.

The family expresses their gratitude to the care team at New Perspective Roseville for their care of Mom, with special thanks to Frieda, a true angel and friend; and the team at HealthPartners Hospice for the gentle care shown to Mom during the final weeks of her life.

On July 24, 2022, there will be a gathering of Grace’s friends and loved ones as we share our memories and stories of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to help defray medical expenses. Thank you.
