life story
Your life was a blessing, Your memory a treasure,You are loved beyond words, And missed beyond measure.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Glenna R. Lietz, age 71. She was born on November 29th, 1952 and was the oldest daughter of Eldred and Mildred (Buse) Lietz of Lakeview Iowa, and passed on August 9th, 2024 at her home.
Glenna’s primary focus in life was her family.
Glenna went to college in Des Moines, Iowa to learn computer programming, and then went on to work for Tennet, where she worked as a database administrator. Some of her favorite hobbies were tending to her flower gardens, creating arts and crafts, fishing, and traveling to her favorite camping spots together as a family. Every summer she would take her family on vacation to remote parts of Northern MN and South Dakota to enjoy camping off the beaten trail. To Glenna, her family meant everything and was her primary focus in life.
Glenna peacefully departed, surrounded by her loving family at her bedside leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. She passed in her home surrounded by her children Kim and Paul, her son in law Robert, and grandson Zach, who together had cared for her for the last several years of her life.
Glenna lived a life full of love, laughter, and resilience. Her radiant spirit touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Lietz, and many other loved ones, Glenna now leaves behind her father, Eldred Lietz of Lake View, IA; her children, Kimberly Onuma and Paul Muellerleile, both of Buffalo, MN; her brothers, Gary (Elaine) Lietz of Lake City, IA, and Wayne (Julie) Lietz of Breda, IA; her grandson, Zachary, of Buffalo, MN; and her son-in-law, Robert Onuma, also of Buffalo, MN; nephew, Chad (Aileen) Lietz of Columbia Heights, MN; nieces, Jennifer (Stuart) Bohm of Lake View, IA, Michelle (Alex) Farley of Auburn, IA, Rachel (Keith) Naughton of Lake City, IA; great- nephews, D.J.
