life story

Loving mother, friend, sister, and so much more...

In the garden of memories, she blooms eternal, her spirit entwined with the melody of life, the whispers of literature, the grace of roses, and the boundless love for all creatures great and small. Though she has left this earthly stage after bravely battling, her legacy of faith and love endures, a symphony of her soul echoing through eternity.

About Gladys (f/ daughter)

Gladys/Glady/the mini tank/mom passed away peacefully in her sleep last night after an unbelievable battle with pancreatic cancer. While she missed beating the tragic 5 year survivor statistic by literally just months - she had some of us doubting it was the end up to her final day. One nursing home staff member came in and said ‘she’ll be fine’, which I took comfort in knowing that I wasn’t the only one who had grown to count on her incredible ability to tough it out. We left the room in complete confidence that she’d be there in the morning.

As a religious woman, it was only fitting that as my dad pointed out - she came in this world at the time of Jesus’ birth (12/24 - to make sure she was a bit early) and she left at the time of his death (one day after Good Friday).

If you gamble, make a bet for Gladys. Not a big one - because that would just be ‘stupid (her words, not mine). If you shop, touch all the things in your favorite store and walk around for hours before leaving with nothing. If you drink, have a beer, breakfast wine, or bloodymary. If you thrift shop - go buy all the things you don’t need. Read a million books. Pet and try to save all the dogs, cats, rats, squirrels, really anything alive. Watch your favorite show on repeat for YEARS. Buy as many new electronics as you can afford because they ‘break’ and you need something new to look forward to. Never - ever sit still or stop moving items around. Don’t bother drinking coffee if it doesn’t burn your tounge off. If you want something and people aren’t answering their phone - call repeatedly and then tell them it must have been a glitch with your phone or a pocket dial (even if you left vms every time 😂). If nothing else - call and tell a loved one something bizarre that makes no sense and that you love them.

RIP Mom
