Minneapolis, MN, USA
Ginny Hannula (née Sitarz), 75, of Annandale, passed away peacefully on August 14 after a courageous battle with renal cancer. Born and raised in Northeast Minneapolis, Ginny cherished her home on Clearwater Lake in Annandale and her winters spent in Southwest Florida. She found joy in being on the water, fishing with the Slip Bobbers, tending her garden, and watching the birds and wildlife that visited her yard.
Ginny worked for 30 years at AT&T, where she valued the friendships and camaraderie she built with her coworkers and carpool companions. She was known for her kindness, her steady faith, and her deep love for family. Her nieces will fondly remember the annual Aunties’ Lunch and the delight of returning home with treasures chosen just for them.
Ginny is survived by her brothers Robert and Richard (Natalie), along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John; her parents, Stanley and Bernice Sitarz; her sister Carol; and her brother James.
A church service will be held at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale on October 3, with visitation at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m. A private interment will follow at Corinna Township Cemetery. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the physicians, staff, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who supported Ginny with care and compassion throughout her illness.
