Loving Mom, Friend, Feisty New Yorker

Geraldine (Geri) Ashley, 67, of Richardson, Texas, sadly passed away on August 8th, 2022.

Geri was born on January 23rd, 1955 to Sylvia & Armando Miranda in Brooklyn, New York. After Geri graduated from high school, she went on to study Cosmetology.

After she finished Cosmetology school, she pursued her love of styling hair & making those around her feel beautiful for nearly 50 years.

In 1990, Geri met Kenneth Keys at her salon, where she did his hair for the first time. They fell in love instantly. Geri and Ken went on to marry and have one daughter, Chelsea Ashley.

Geri took pride in raising Chelsea & always put her daughter's needs above her own. Her dedication and love for Chelsea knew no bounds. Geri & Chelsea's relationship was a rare treasure that few get the honor of having. They were best friends.

Known for her feisty New York attitude and her “tell it like it is” personality, Geri was an inspiration to those around her. She had many friends who can attest to this.

Geri loved refinishing things, getting into fun crafts and “treasure hunting” for items to salvage and repurpose – even if it meant dragging Chelsea with her to go get a bulky item from the side of the road.

Geri was always able to see the potential – in those items and in the people around her.

When she wasn't crafting, Geri could usually be found watching her favorite show, Outlander, while snuggled on the couch with Chelsea and their tiny Chihuahua, Minnie.

Geri was predeceased by her father, Armando Miranda, her mother, Sylvia Miranda, & Kenneth Keys, her ex-husband & father of her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Chelsea Ashley & her son-in-law, Garrett Krebs.

Her celebration of life will be held at Sage Creek Clubhouse on September 4th, 2022 at 1pm in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, a kind donation towards the cost of the cremation and memorial would be greatly appreciated.
