Loving Husband and Father

Gerald Edward Hedger (Jerry) age 78, passed away peacefully in his Prior Lake home on Friday June 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry was born March 21, 1943, in Minneapolis MN to his loving parents Clarence and Evelyn Hedger.

Jerry spent his childhood in South Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School in 1961. He attended the University of Minnesota and was avid Gopher fan.

He married Gail Barclay in 1965 and together had his daughter Leslie who he raised.

Jerry met the love of his life Lynn in 1977, they united in marriage in August of 1979. Together they welcomed daughter Melissa Jean to the family in 1980. They lived in Burnsville for many years and then downsized to their current home in Prior Lake.

Jerry loved to read, was an avid golfer and enjoyed many family vacations to different warm destinations.

Jerry had a very successful 40 plus year career in the automotive sales industry. He helped open and was the General Manager of Burnsville Nissan and ended his career as the Kia Manager at Belzer Automotive in Lakeville.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Evelyn. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Lynn, his daughters Leslie (Schultz), Melissa, grandchildren Dylan (Claire) Alexie (Jesse) brother Richard (Nancy) Hedger, sister Meredith (David)Tharaldson. He was also loved by his brother and sisters’ in-laws as well as beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lakefront Park Pavilion 5000 Kop Parkway, Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372 on Thursday, July 15th from 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that you donate to your favorite charity.

Our family would also like to thank the Dr. John Seng and his staff at Minnesota Oncology, Dr. Mark Fallen and staff at Minnesota Urology for the excellent care that they have given over the past 12 years. We would also like to thank the staff at Allina Hospice of Savage especially nurse Kris for the special care they gave making Jerry comfortable.
