Gene M. Anderson

life story

Gene M. Anderson passed away peacefully on a clear frosty morning as the sun came up on Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home.

Born to Fritz & Mabel Anderson in Minneapolis, MN, he grew up there and attended Bethany Lutheran Church where he met the love of his life, Dianne Erbes. He graduated from Minneapolis South High School in 1956 and attended the University of Minnesota. Gene & Dianne were married in 1959.

Gene worked as a buyer for Dayton’s Department store and a Regional Sales Manager for the West Bend Company of Green Bay, WI until he retired.

Gene loved to frequently travel with Dianne to see their children and grandchildren in places like Florida, New York, North Carolina, Kansas, Ohio, Louisana,

and Texas for holidays and “just because” trips. He loved to be at the lake for numerous projects, repairs, coffee with family, chess, FISHING, and celebrating the holidays with family. Dad taught us all how to take the dock out in the fall and put it back in the water in the spring, find the right fishing spots on the lake, and buy more gas for the boat!

Gene has now joined his parents, brother Fritz, granddaughter Toni Marie and many other cousins and friends up in heaven for coffee and great conversation!

Gene’s life will forever be remembered by his family; Dianne, Steve (Diane), Brian (Liz), Katie Schletty (Rob), grandkids Matt, Timothy, Kevin, Kyle, Kayla, nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law and many, many friends.

Family, friends, neighbors and those whose lives were touched by Gene are invited to celebrate his life with us on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 11:30am
