Gene Laski Hendrickson, 93, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, November 8, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Gene was born August 16, 1931 in Brocket, ND, the son of John and Mabel Helmi (Laski) Hendrickson. He graduated Blackduck High School in 1950 and attended Bemidji State University. He served in the US Army from 1951-1954. He married Judith Ann Lukens November 26, 1966 in Minneapolis, MN.

He worked various jobs with MNDOT, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion in Bemidji. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, maple syruping, cooking, and baking. His grandkids were very special to him. He enjoyed going to their various events and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Hendrickson of Bemidji, children, Michael (Amanda) Hendrickson of Rochester, MN, Rebecca (Steven) Peterson of Bemidji, and David Hendrickson of Duluth, MN, grandchildren, Ben, Amy, Katie, Katherine, Emily, Earl, and Adeline.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Beth Ann, parents, brothers, Lyle, Kenneth, and Charles, sister, Cecile, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth.

Gene’s family would like to thank the hospice and home care nurses and aides for their wonderful care and making Gene comfortable in his final days.

Funeral Services for Gene

November 15, 2024

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Evergreen Northern Township Cemetery in Bemidji, MN
