About Gaylord

Gaylord "Gator" Krone II, 51-year-old resident of Saint Francis, MN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 after fighting a heroic battle against lung cancer. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover, MN.

Gaylord was born on March 19, 1970 in Golden Valley, MN to Gaylord Krone, Sr. and Marilyn (Healy) Krone. Gaylord started dating the love of his life, Donna Mae, in 1999, and on January 13, 2003 they welcomed beautiful twin daughters, Abigayle Marilyn and Kirsten Elaine. On June 22, 2013 Gaylord and Donna were officially married at the Como Zoo Conservatory. His “three girls” were the light of his life, and he would do anything for them.

Gaylord loved to drive his truck and often used this time to jam out to his favorite tunes. Although it was short-lived, Gaylord was thrilled to open his own trucking company. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the young kids in his life and could be found giving them rides in his truck or feeding them sugary treats. Gaylord loved his yard and the work that came with making it look nice. He also loved the opportunity to offer warm hellos and talk with neighbors as they drove or walked by. After a long day’s work, he could be found enjoying his favorite Marvel movies, which he stated made him feel like a true superhero. Gaylord had a huge heart and was always concerned with everyone else’s happiness and wellbeing. His love was fierce and genuine, and having fun was always a top priority.

Gaylord was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife and daughters, two stepsons Raymond (Mayra), Zane (Heather), granddaughter Cassandra, his in-laws Carrie and Larry Dudycha, sisters Sandy (Tom) Taylor and Shari Krone, nieces and nephews, a large community of family and friends, and, of course, his fur babies.

Visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM with luncheon following. All are welcome to come celebrate the life of our beloved Gator.
