About Gary

Gary Robert Madson, age 85, of Bloomington, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, with his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara, and children by his side. 

Gary a devoted husband and committed follower of Jesus, raised four children, and spent time with his twelve grandchildren at every opportunity. Gary was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and sports and music enthusiast, always putting other’s needs ahead of his own. Gary enjoyed his lake cabin in Nisswa for many years. However, the most important thing in his life was his relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Gary’s devotion to family and firm belief in God has strengthened him throughout his life. His kindness, devotion to family and generosity will always be missed.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Robert Madson and mother, Agnes. Gary is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters; Michelle Foy (David), Susanne Hudak, and sons Kent Madson (Heidi) and Jonathan Madson, twelve grandchildren, three great-granddaughters.

A celebration of life service will take place on May 15 at 11am, Wooddale Church 6630 Shady Oak Rd in Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Memorials preferred to Wooddale Church or New Life Homes.
