Gary Lloyd Johnson From Bakersfield, CA

Gary will be remembered as a kind, intelligent, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose greatest joys in life were his family, music, his dogs and the work he loved.

Gary was a retired engineer from ASML. He also had his own business Glaswerks, where he was highly skilled in designing and building glass tube guitar amplifiers. His creativity and craftsmanship reflected his lifelong passion for music. Big bands such as Santana, Jackson Brown, Joe Bonmanasa and many more were his customers. He also loved spending time on ham radio and going places with his wife Michelle.

Above all, he cherished his family. He was survived by his wife, Michelle Schimek-Johnson. He was a loving father to Heidi (Bear), Ryan, and Travis (Tiffany), and a caring stepfather to Alex (Megan Martin), Stephanie (Allen), and Maria (Tylor).

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cindy, and his parents, Melvin and Julia Johnson. He is also remembered by his many grandchildren.
