life story

Devoted Husband and Father

Frank passed away on July 2nd at the age of 74 at James Lovell Federal Health Center.

He fought the good fight over this past year and recovered with the grace of God each time, but this time our Lord decided to call him home. He was surrounded by his family and given the peace he deserved.

He was extremely proud to be a veteran. He served his country in Vietnam as a sergeant, acting in both a military police capacity and as an airplane technician.

Following his duty in the army he returned home and married our late mother Sharon and became the father of six boys and one girl. Growing up he taught us to love God, Country, and Scouting.

He worked at Underwriters Laboratory for 26 years and went on to work at such places as Salton and Edison labs as a quality and safety technician.

He was a dedicated leader in 4-H and the Boy Scouts of America as well as helping the Girl Scouts as needed. He spent over a decade as a Camp Master and then a Camp Director at the Boy Scouts Cub Camp located at Hoover Outdoor Education Center. He cherished every moment he spent with fellow scouters working to make improvements, maintain the grounds, and create programs. In his later years he went on to volunteer as a camp inspector, helping other scouts bring quality and safety to their programs.

In his retirement he rekindled a love with his childhood sweetheart Wendy McCumber and they were married in September of 2018, creating a lifelong friendship and love.

As his mobility lessened he returned to his beloved hobbies of trains and radio communication.

He will be remembered for his stories, his dedication to others, his ability to tinker and fix things, as well as his kindness and patience with those around him.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Angeline Pecoraro and survived by his wife, Wendy Pecoraro; his children, Anthony, Matthew, Christian, Neal-Paul, Andrew, and Philip Pecoraro; his daughter Bethany Chuchla, his son-in-law Jon Chuchla, and his grandchildren Katherine, Lilian, and Joseph Chuchla.
