life story
On September 12, 2016, the world lost one of the great ones. Floyd Sargert was born on March 15, 1948, in San Diego, California, to Floyd Sargert Sr. and Margaret Sargert.
Floyd was an adventurer at heart, happiest in the wilderness. He was as handy as they come—the type of man you could send into the forest with a toothpick and a Swiss Army knife, and he’d build you a shopping mall.
Floyd’s talents and skills were innumerable, but it was his mind and heart that truly set him apart. He had a deep compassion for those in need, offering shelter and understanding throughout his life without hesitation. He never boasted of his kindness—he simply lived it.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: good ole’ rock and roll, NASCAR, kicking back with a movie (with surround sound, of course), and stargazing were among his favorite pastimes. He appreciated the little details of life that most people overlook.
Above all, Floyd was a devoted husband and father. He loved his wife, Cathy, with all of his soul, and he raised his children with quiet, steady, and unwavering care. He set a true example of what it means to be decent, kind, and hardworking. He is deeply missed every day.
Floyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Sargert, and his parents, Floyd Sr. and Margaret Sargert. He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Sargert and Rhiannon Sargert, and by his sons, Kyle Sargert, Evan Sargert, and Timothy Sargert.
