life story

Your love for your flowers, creatures of all kinds, and being the best friend, mom, grandma and great-grandma will always be remembered.

Born in 1942, Evelyn grew up in Wahkon, MN, the oldest of 4 children. She frequently reminisced about all the walking they would do - something she continued until the day she passed - and where she acquired her love of animals. She married Dennis Larson in May 1962 and had three children, Gwenn, Cary, and Brett. She started her career at the phone company before the kids were born. After the kids were grown, she worked a variety of jobs at Dayton’s/Marshall Field’s/Macys.

Along with her husband, she loved traveling - from Australia to Tokyo and to their favorite, Puerto Vallarta. Gwenn took her on many adventures spanning the USA from Portland Maine to Portland Oregon. She was always ready to go!

Back at home she could be found tending to her beautiful flower gardens or whipping up delicious recipes. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren - watching soccer games, playing with candles, reading books, walking the dogs, Broadway shows…. She supported her daughter’s running and her son’s fishing expeditions. In January 2025 she was blessed with a great-grandson and would just sit and chat with him about how handsome he was.
