ABOUT ERIC

Eric Ryan Nelson, 43, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Born on August 24, 1981, in Minneapolis, Eric grew up with a passion for music and creativity. He graduated from North High School in Minneapolis, the Summatech Program in 1999 where he developed skills that would serve him throughout his life. He later worked for many years at Allina

Woodlake Clinic in medical records, where his dedication and attention to detail were valued.  He liked to make people smile so he was known as the keeper of the daily joke at the clinic.

Eric had a deep love for music and enjoyed creating beats, finding joy in crafting rhythms and sounds that reflected his artistic spirit. His creativity extended beyond music into cinematography, a passion he shared with his church community.

 As a longtime member of the church Book of Acts, Eric served as the church’s cinematographer and played an active role in teaching Bible studies to children. His faith also led him on a mission trip to Guatemala, where he documented the experience through video. The children in the villages were drawn to him, eagerly following him around to watch his work unfold.

Eric will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and caring nature. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his kindness left a lasting impact on many lives.  

He is survived by his mother, Mary Tkadlec-Nelson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Nelson, along with other beloved family members.

There will be a celebration of Life this spring with a date to follow.

May Eric’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and loved him.
