Eric Dahl

life story

Eric Wesley Dahl passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, after bravely battling stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer for over a year. Born in Reading, Massachusetts, Eric was captain of his high school lacrosse team and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Chemistry (2011), and later moved to Michigan where he earned his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Michigan (2018), before accepting a job with Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. In 2021, Eric moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and accepted a position at 3M as an Application Engineer to start the next chapter of his life with his love, Amanda Leone.

Eric loved outdoor activities like mountain biking, crossfit, and visiting National Parks, with Yellowstone and Zion among his favorites. He loved cooking (and buying new cookware). Eric enjoyed going to local breweries, traveling for camping adventures and visiting his family in Boston and on Cape Cod. Eric made lifelong friends everywhere he lived.

Known for his honesty, generosity, love of chemistry and science, sense of humor, and vivacious spirit Eric was a fun-loving, lifelong learner with a tender heart. Eric found comfort in community, whether it was in sports, work, spending time with friends, or attending St. Paul's UCC Church.

Eric is lovingly remembered by his wife Amanda, who has been by his side for 10 years; his parents Harvey (Pete) Dahl and Fran Weidman-Dahl; his sisters Allison Dahl, and Melanie Burke and their families; his family in-law the Leone family; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.

His legacy of resilience, compassion, and curiosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
