September 4, 1960 – October 1, 2024
Lancaster, OH 43130, USA
Elizabeth Valerio (Venzon) Colby, 64, of Lancaster, OH, passed away in the Philippines on October 1, 2024, surrounded by her beloved fiancé and relatives. Beth’s journey was one marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
She was born on September 4th, 1960, celebrated on August 4th, in the Philippines, and is the daughter of Mariano Venzon and Elladora Valerio.
In 1983, Beth proudly earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Holy Angel University. In 1988, she became an American citizen where she built a beautiful life for herself and her daughters.
Beth devoted over two decades of her career to Nifco, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. Her colleagues and friends remember her as someone who brought warmth and kindness to every interaction.
One of her greatest joys was cooking. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together through food, especially traditional Filipino dishes such as lumpia and empanadas. For her, cooking was an act of love, and she shared her culture through these meals. It was her way of creating not only delicious food but beautiful memories around the dinner table as well.
Outside of her passion for cooking, Beth spent time in her garden tending to her flowers and other plants. She also found joy in exploring new places, always eager to embrace and photograph the beauty of the world around her.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Mariano Venzon and Elladora Valerio, as well as her brothers, Ricardo Venzon (Angeli “Jing” Venzon), Reynaldo Venzon (Liza Venzon), and special family member, Joan Pullen.
She leaves behind her devoted fiancé Daniel Murphy; her children Samantha Colby (Eric Huber) and Stephanie Workman (Anthony Workman); her brother, Redentor Venzon (Hilda Venzon); as well as many other relatives and friends across the world who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
