About Tootie

Elaine “Tootie” Schultz was born on May 28, 1933. in Sioux Falls, SD to Ivan and Mary (Jandl) Bump on May 28th, 1933. She grew up with a house full of brothers and sisters and was always proud to remind everyone how she loved to help care for and raise her siblings.

She married Leo Schultz June of 1952 and raised their eight wonderful children. Her hobbies included cleaning, feeding the birds and watching the Minnesota TWINS. She was involved in Catholic Daughters, Eagles and VFW. She did daycare after all her children were raised.

Tootie passed peacefully, on Saturday, June 17th in Marshall.

She is survived by her children Marcia (and Larry) Sik of Marshall, Steve (and Barb) Schultz of Albany, MN, Mary (and Brad) Van Nevel of Moorhead, Michael (and Lynn) Schultz of Marshall, Julie (and Ted) Geary of Marshall and Joel (and Shannon) Schultz of Marshall. Other survivors include her beloved grandchildren Amie (and Jason), Gus, Natalie (and Doug), Matthew, Sarah (and Alex), Michael, Lucas (and Leah), Erin, Benjamin (Bryanna), Catie, Adam, Nicholas ( and Lindsay) Rylee and Abbie. Her great grandchildren Brodyn, Charlotte, Doug, Poppy, Owen, William, Maeve, Max and Vivienne. as well as many other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Ivan, Mother Mary, Leo, daughter Becky, and son David. Also brothers Kenny, Lyle, Dennis and Mel and her sister Carol.

Tootie will be missed by all of us.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Horvath Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall with lunch following.
