Elaine Martine, 97, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab.

Elaine Pearl (Ludwig) Martine was born March 2, 1925, in Mahnomen, Minnesota the daughter of Theodore and Francis Ludwig. She attended school in Mahnomen, MN. Elaine married and was widowed twice in her life, she had nine children.

Elaine worked as a nurse aid at the Bagley hospital for 20 plus years, after retiring from the hospital she was a home nurse aid for the Bagley and Shevlin community.

Elaine loved to “galivant” to visit friends, she enjoyed traveling to Arizona to visit her family. Elaine loved her family and friends to stop in and visit. In her later years she loved to play cards with family and friends, whoever stopped in, she loved company.

Elaine loved to attend Faith Hill Assembly of God church and her church family of Bagley. Her love of Jesus was always a constant in her life.

Elaine loved food, mostly sweets and cheetos were her favorite.

She is survived by her children James Peter (Karen) Frederick of Ebro, MN. Lois Elaine (Frederick) Martine of Bagley, MN. Richard Allen (Cindy) Fredrick of Yuma, AZ. James Wallace Martine Jr. of Bagley, MN. Connie Frances (Martine) Helgeson of Shevlin, MN. Timothy Michael (Laura) Martine of Taber, MN. John Lee Martine of Bemidji, MN. Carrie Mildred (Martine) Smith of Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Ludwig. Mother, Frances Ludwig. Sisters, Dorothy (Hatcher) Hanlon and Mildred (Hatcher) Dahl. Brother Virgil Hatcher. First husband, Peter Joseph Frederick and second husband, James (Red) Wallace Martine. Sr. Son, Ronald Eugene Ludwig. Son-in-law, Roy Delano Martine. Great grandson, Steven Keith Wang Leavitt. Great granddaughter, Jandy Frederick.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A visitation will also be held the evening before on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN. Interment will be held at Bagley City Cemetery.
