DUANE C. ROBERTS

December 15, 1929 – February 25, 2026

Duane C. Roberts, Age 96, passed away peacefully at his home in Inver Grove Heights. Preceded in death by parents Clarence W. and Mildred (Croswell) Roberts, wife Crystal Dee Ann (Rowe) Roberts, Daughter Brenda Jean, Son Scott D. Survived by his loving son Tim Sr. (Barb) Roberts and daughter-in-law Leigh (Gibson) Roberts. Grandchildren Tim Jr. (Jenn) Roberts of Waterloo Iowa, Brad D. Roberts of Inver Grove Heights, Preston (Claire) Roberts of Ohio, Justine Roberts of St. Paul and Great-Granddaughter Makenna Mae Roberts of Waterloo, Iowa.

Duane was a 1951 graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul. In 2000 he was inducted into the Macalester Hall of Fame as a MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) wrestling champion in 1949 and 1950, team captain and key member who helped the Scots win conference titles as the Scots dominated the MIAC. He married Dee Ann in 1957 and together they raised 3 children. They loved fishing, world venture birding tours, and gardening to name a few. They won numerous MN State Fair and various County ribbons for their first in class vegetables. Duane retired from 3M in January 1990 after a 30-year career as a corporate pilot. After the passing of Dee Ann he continued gardening and local travel going fishing and birding. He also maintained the gardens at First Presbyterian Church in South St Paul. Duane was a gourmet cook and “foodie” with his specialty of Oysters Rockefeller and favorite summer restaurant of Sea Salt Eatery at Minnehaha Falls.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of South St Paul (535 20th Avenue No., South St. Paul, MN (651.451.6223) on Saturday, June 13, 2026 with a 10:00 am visitation, 11:00 am service and luncheon immediately after the service.
