Dr. Antonio “Mike” Michael Sherer Guimaraes, 66, of Bemidji, MN died Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Minneapolis, MN to Antonio D. and Kathryn Guimaraes. After graduating from medical school, he worked as a primary care physician in Bagley, Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James, MN and Cass Lake IHS. He retired after serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the Bemidji Area Indian Health Service.

He is survived by his wife, Marlys, his mother, his six children, one stepdaughter, ten grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. He is preceded in death by his father and sister.
