Douglas “Doug” Lamont Gatlin Sr., 57, of Crystal, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025.

Born on November 23, 1967, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Toni and Herman Gatlin, Doug grew up surrounded by family, friends, and the kind of community that shaped his easygoing nature and strong work ethic. He worked for many years as a proud member of Local 417 as a sprinkler fitter — a career that reflected his dedication, reliability, and quiet strength.

Doug will be remembered most for the simple joys he loved: fishing on calm Minnesota lakes, cheering for his favorite teams during any and all sports seasons, listening to old-school music, and relaxing at home. His easy laughter, loyalty, and presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Gatlin; his son, Douglas Gatlin Jr.; and his long-time girlfriend, Curisa Eittreim. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Toni Gatlin.

There will be no service or memorial at this time. The family kindly asks for space as Doug’s children process this devastating loss.

Doug’s memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with those closest to him.
