Douglas Allen Johnson "Doug" "Woody"
June 3, 1963 – April 11, 2026
Douglas Allen Johnson “Doug” or “Woody” passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from ALS with his wife Linda, daughter Taylor, and son Colton by his side. We are heartbroken but glad he is no longer suffering.
Doug was born June 3, 1963 in Hudson Wisconsin to Glenn and Carol Johnson. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1981 where he was an accomplished wrestler. He married the love of his life Linda Klint on September 6, 1996 in Solon Springs, WI where they met. Doug was a very talented carpenter, and he built the family home in Hermantown, Minnesota from the ground up, where they raised their children and resided for 25+ years. He also designed, along with his wife Linda their 2nd home in Danbury, WI. He worked as a meat cutter and then a carpenter for many years before going back to school at WITC and becoming a heavy equipment mechanic at Ziegler Caterpillar for 20+ years until his retirement. He was also on a race pit crew for many years and loved stock car racing. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He loved spending time with family and friends and being outside wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and playing on his many tractors over the years. Doug always had a joke or story to share and made us all laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Carol Johnson, his niece Kaitlin Jacobsen, and father-in-law Lee Klint.
He’s survived by his wife Linda Klint, daughter Taylor (McCoy) Ritchie, son Colton Johnson, brother Dale (Rita) Johnson, mother-in-law Marjorie Klint, brothers in law Randy (Toni Tigue) Klint, and Al (Nikki) Klint, nieces Brianna (Joe) Wiltse, and Davia Klint. He is also survived by his best friend Brett Tresselt and his dog and constant companion Eve, and grand dogs whom he adored Beau, Daizy, and Remmy. Along with many aunts, cousins and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
There will be a celebration of life for Doug this summer June 27th at his home in Danbury, WI. We request you share your favorite joke or Doug/Woody story at the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to NorthernLakesRescue.org or for ALS to Neversurrenderinc.org
