Dorothy Jean Schulz passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, August 31,

2024.

Born on September 27, 1943 to Edward and Nettie Miller, she grew up in Cannon Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Ellen, brother Willis “Bud” Miller, sisters Marie Carroll, and Sandra Nelson. Dorothy is survived by Chuck, her loving husband of 60 years, sons Christopher (Maureen) and Steven (Rhonda), and big sister Carol. She was blessed with grandchildren Zachary, Samantha, Kristi, Paul, Jake, Presten, Kaitlin and great-grandchildren James, Ava, Luna, Katie Sarah, along with many nieces and nephews. Dorothy retired from West Publishing/Thompson Reuters where she spent many years.

Dorothy was a quilter, was very active in her church life at Newport Lutheran Church, a volunteer with many organizations, and spent much time enjoying friends and family. She was a foster parent to many babies through the Children’s Home Society MN - LSS. The grandchildren will miss Dorothy’s cookie baking – especially at Christmas. She was an amazing grandmother! She loved her sons and always missed Ellen.

Please join us for a celebration of Dorothy held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Newport Lutheran Church at 900 – 15 th St., Newport, MN. Visitation will be at 10am, one hour prior to the service.
