Our lovely mother, Dorothy

Dorothy was a strong, quiet lady who enjoyed the simple things... family, pretty flowers, classic country music, coffee and chocolate. She liked to watch the birds at the bird feeder and helping put together puzzles.

She was born in South Mpls. when it was common for many generations, in a single family, to live together. When WW2 started, the men left to fight, the women and children gathered and supported each other. Those memories always stayed with her.

She was interested in genealogy and would tell of her younger days at Medicine Lake. She learned, at a young age, how to ice fish. In the summer she fished from a pontoon, with her parents. The dances, open air movies and "the beach" were a great way to spend time with friends.

When Dorothy was older, her twin girls were a delightful addition and kept her very busy. A son and another daughter completed her family. She worked hard and raised them, as a single parent, with the support of family and a few good friends.

The multi generational home tradition continued with her youngest daughter Donna and husband Tim, when they moved to Circle Pines. She loved watching each of her grandchildren and great grandchild grow up.

She touched many hearts and will be deeply missed. Be at peace, we love you mom.
