Dorothy Eileen [Millar] Traaseth, age 100, from Bagley, Minnesota died Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Cornerstone Senior Care, Bagley.

Dorothy Eileen Millar was born June 27, 1924 near Shevlin, Minnesota to John “Guy” and Julia (Olson) Millar. She was baptized and confirmed at Shevlin Clearwater Lutheran Church. She graduated from Bagley HS in 1942. She wed Chester Traaseth on September 9, 1942 in Shevlin. They celebrated 60 happy years of marriage.

Over her lifetime, Dorothy volunteered in her community and church. She donated many quilts that she had sewn throughout the years. She worked as a bookkeeper before her dream job of owning and managing the Mode O'Day clothing store became a reality in Osage, Iowa, in the 1970's. She was an avid

gardener, bird watcher and an excellent cook. Her favorite pastimes were bowling, golf and playing cards. Even when dementia robbed her of precious memories and slowly took away her ability to do everyday things, she rarely complained. She greeted people with a smile and was appreciative of the small things in life. The family will miss her quick wit, positive attitude and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Shirley Beltz, daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Kerzie) Traaseth. Her siblings, Clifford Millar, Frances (Charles) Malterud, Joyce Chapman, James (Judy) Millar, John Millar, Gerald (Lorraine) Millar. Her brother/sister-in-laws, Goodwin (Bernice) Traaseth, Johan Traaseth, Pearl (Alfred) Larson, Emma (John) Negaard, Alice (Axel) Hogberg, Gertie (Earl) Harwood, Alvin Traaseth.

She is survived by her children, Curtis Traaseth, Patricia Traaseth (Tom), Pete Traaseth (Jeanne), Beth Duenow (Steve), son-in-law, Steve Beltz. Her sister/brother-in-laws, Elaine Millar, Janet Traaseth, Wayne (Ruth) Traaseth. Her grandchildren, Mark (Brenda) Beltz, Stephanie (Noel) Anderson, Nathaniel (Stephanie) Traaseth, Amanda (Patrick) Vaughn, Leah (Landon) Harger, Lindsay Duenow, Keith (Heather) Duenow, Kevin (Megan) Duenow. Her greatgrandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Nicholas, Quinn, August, Nora, Maris, Melody, Elliott, Elijah, Everett, Owen, William “Duke”, Etta, Keaton, Vaeda, Kingston, Kendrick. Her step great-grandchildren, Alivea, Adessa, Jamison.
