Born in Aitkin, MN on June 8, 1939, to Edward and Helen Carlson, Dee passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2025. She was married to Charles “Papa” Hendrickson for 55 years before his passing, and together they built a big, lively family on St. Paul’s East Side. After raising her children there for more than five decades, Dee retired into what she proudly called her “cave,” where she spent her final years surrounded by family.

Dee was witty, feisty, and honest to a fault—tough, hilarious, and unforgettable. She loved animals, crossword puzzles, fresh bread, pineapple upside-down cake, and a good story. She didn’t sugarcoat life (unless it came baked), and her sharp wit and stubborn love defined her to the very end.

Dee was our bread and butter—the kind of woman you don’t just miss, you tell stories about forever. Your way or the highway, Dee.
