Donna Kay Launius (Evins) 1947 - 2025

With hearts heavy yet filled with cherished memories, we announce the passing of Donna Kay Launius (Evins), 77, of El Dorado, AR. Donna departed this world on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at her home in Onalaska, TX, surrounded by the love of her husband and sons.

Donna was born in El Dorado, AR, in 1947 to Lloyd and Mildred Evins. Despite facing early challenges, including complications with her hands and legs that required many visits to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Shreveport, LA, Donna's indomitable spirit shone brightly. She attended El Dorado High School and Southern Arkansas University, never allowing her handicap to slow her down. Her tenacity and ability to outperform others in all she undertook were truly remarkable.

Her life was forever changed on a fateful Halloween night in 1964 when she met the love of her life, Zack, at the Tower Drive-In in El Dorado, AR. Zack knew from that moment that Donna was the one for him and he told her that night that he was going to marry her, and they were married on December 31, 1966. Their love story spanned 58 wonderful years.

Donna was renowned for her infectious sense of humor, quick wit, and the boundless love she had for her family. She was always ready with a laugh or a witty retort, making her the life of any gathering. Donna’s love was as vast as it was deep, and she was both loved well and well loved.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Evins; her mother, Mildred Evins; her stepfather, Harry Freeman; and her mother-in-law, Geraldine Launius. Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Zack Launius; her children, Bradly Dean, Christopher Allen, and April Michelle Launius; her grandson, Dalton Christopher Launius; her brother, Robert Evins; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Evins; her nephews, Jason and Jonathan Evins; her niece, Jennifer Bishop; and their spouses and children; and her cousin, Dinnis McCullar.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Donna wants to be placed at Pikes Peak, CO as her final resting place. If you are so inclined, a small donation to the Shriners Children's Hospital in her memory would make her and her family incredibly grateful.
