Donald "Don" Mudrick

Donald "Don" Mudrick, of Stacy, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Meadows of Fairview in Wyoming, Minnesota. Don was born in St. Paul to Herman and Lillian Mudrick. Later the family moved to a farm in Stacy, Minnesota. After serving during the Korean War, Don met and married Phyllis Jack on January 18, 1958. Don was known as a hard worker and thought by some as one of the strongest men in Chisago County in his day. His jobs included working at Houles Feed Mill, Tastee Bakery, Mudrick Masonry and Forest Lake School District. His second job was caretaker of the Lent Town Hall. Don loved tinkering in his garage and on his Farmall tractors. The highlight of his year was always the Almelund Threshing Show. He loved camping and fishing and putting around Stacy in his truck. Stacy was his town and the town loved him. He could be found at Tim's Country cupboard for morning coffee or sitting at the fields watching the Stacy ball teams. Don served many years as member a Stacy Volunteer Fireman and on the Stacy Cemetery Committee.

Don is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Mark (Terese) and daughter Cathy (Joel) Steinmueller. Don was blessed with five granddaughters: Abbey (Adam) Borowicz, Ashley (Jim) Rue, Alissa (Brad) Jensen, Catelyn (Rufino) Rodriguez and Courtney (Jordan DeJong) Steinmueller. He was known as "Pops" to many including his seven great grandchildren: Jack, Avery, Alivia, Ollie, Lily, Harper and Rylee. Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Albert and Raymond, sisters Lucille and Arlis Rutt.
