About Dick
Dixon “Dick” Petersdorf passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Cornerstone Rehab Center in Bagley, MN.
He was born on August 3, 1940 in Bemidji, MN. He was raised and lived there until he graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958. After he graduated his family relocated to Colorado Springs, CO where he and his father Charles Petersdorf started a Masonry business. Soon after he met Marsha Wightman and they were married on January 28, 1978. They built their first home, had two daughters, and lived in Colorado until 1987 when they decided to move back to Bemidji to enjoy a slower paced lifestyle. In 2006 they moved to Little Fork, MN to enjoy retirement along with fishing on their private lake. They moved back to Bemidji in 2016, to be closer to their grandkids.
Dick worked hard to support his family and had many jobs over the years. Most recently he worked at Northdale in Clearbrook. He loved being around people and socializing. Everyone who he met loved his charisma and joking side. He loved to play poker and go hunting. Dick and Marsha spent their time gardening, doing yardwork, food prepping and fishing. You could always find Dick tinkering in his shop, on the mower or riding the Kubota.
Dick is survived by his daughters LeeAnn (Jeremy) Jacobson of Wilton, MN, Glenda (Nate Kilde) Petersdorf-Kindred of Bemidji, MN, grandchildren Wyatt, William, and Madilyn Jacobson, Marissa, Tristin, Morgan, Adrianna, Kaden, Jozlynn, Trinity, Reese, and Gabe, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha, his parents, Charles and June, his brother, Charles, Jr., and his sisters Lane Sherman and Lark Jacobs.
