Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Diane passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, after a nearly year-long, courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on July 27, 1952, in Los Angeles, CA, to Harry Bernstein and Merle Trangle, Diane’s family soon returned to their home state of Minnesota, where she grew up in St. Louis Park.

Diane was a hardworking and independent woman, full of youthful energy who never let age define her. Her magnetic personality made everyone she met feel like a friend. She had a deep passion for her family, travel—especially cruises—country line dancing, fishing, and games of chance. Diane was always on the move, living life to its fullest with never a dull moment.

Diane is survived by her children, Jennifer (Chris) Henkels and Nicolas (Amber) Ash; her grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Chambers, Hunter (Tori Pauls) Henkels, and Luca Ash; her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Ellie, and Nolan; her sister, Eileen DePiazza; as well as many extended family members and close friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Jerome Bernstein.
