Dennis John Lashinski, 68, of Vadnais Heights, MN, passed away at home on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Born to Daniel and Frances (Brezinka) Lashinski on October 16, 1954 in Little Falls, MN, he was the eldest of four. The family soon after moved to Minneapolis where he graduated from Roosevelt High in 1972.

While bowling with a group of friends, Dennis met the love of his life Loretta (Waldron) and on May 19, 1979, they married. They made their home in Miltona, MN by the lake where they had two sons, Eric and Philip. The family consequently moved to Coon Rapids, and in 2004 to Vadnais Heights, MN.

Dennis started his career as a metal finisher at Wolkerstorfer Co Inc., and later worked with Twin Cities Plating Co. He took pride in the details of his work and was an active member of the Teamsters Local 120. He retired in August of 2016.

Faith was very important for Dennis and he felt most fulfilled in service to others. Dennis, with Loretta, spent many years volunteering at church and community organizations, such as Open Hands, Loaves and Fishes, Via de Cristo, and Food Rescue. Both enjoyed being members of their church choir for many years.

Dennis loved nothing more than a day on the lake fishing and always had a fish story in his back pocket (true or embellished). His passion began as a young boy when he purchased his own boat and motor by working a paper route in MPLS. Sharing his catch and frying fish for family and friends filled his heart. Dennis also loved deer hunting, gardening (including a variety of vegetables and berries), music, collecting rocks, stamps and coins as well as a good game of cribbage at the end of a day.

Dennis was preceded in death by his love, Loretta (2015); and his father: Daniel (2017). He is survived by his sons: Eric and Philip (Rebecca); his mother, Frances; his siblings: Cynthia, Robert (Jody), and Randall (Michelle); his grandson, Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.
