About Deb

Debra Lorene Thilgen, age 64 of Forest Lake, MN, passed away on February 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with Melanoma. Deb was born on January 12, 1957, daughter of Vince and Jan Reed.  She attended elementary school in Hector, MN, and graduated high school in Verona, WI. She received a Nursing Degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. Following graduation, she enlisted in the Army for four years and continued in the Army Reserves for many years. Deb was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, where she held various positions until her retirement.

Deb was united in marriage to John P. Thilgen in 1980. After spending several years at Fort Campbell, KY, while Deb was on active duty, they moved to Shakopee, MN, where their daughter, Kysa, was born. They eventually moved to Forest Lake, MN, where she spent the next 35 years.

Deb enjoyed traveling, reading, music and spending time with her family and friends. She was proud of her Swedish heritage and will also be remembered for coordinating the annual Reed Family Christmas.

Deb is survived by her daughter, Kysa (Bryan Anglin) and father, Vince Reed. Brothers Rick (Lynn) Reed, Dan (Cindy) Reed and Tom Reed. Brothers-in-law David (Teri) Thilgen, Karl Thilgen, Dean Thilgen (Logan). She is also survived by her aunts, Patricia (David) Johnson and Darlene Reed. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
