CEO of The Manor
Forever loved and forever missed....
Remembering Deborah
Born January 24, 1950 to Mr. Hubert Gillis McGhee and Mrs. Dorothy (Jackson) Lee in Hartford Hospital, Deborah grew up in Bloomfield, Connecticut. She was born the second of seven children; five girls and two boys. She was very smart, witty and athletic - as captain of the girls field hockey team at Bloomfield High School.
She was attending Eastern Connecticut State College when she met the love of her life, Michael Thomas of Hartford, at G. Fox and Company. They soon after began their lifelong love affair and were married in 1968.
Mrs. Thomas was the center of the family and was lovingly given the title 'CEO of The Manor'. She nourished the family with love, guidance, laughter and food as a master chef.
Mrs. Thomas was truly a visual artist and accomplished craftswoman with profound skills in painting, sewing, crocheting, and needlepoint. She spent countless hours over the years to ensure each family member had an afghan blanket, hand sewn birth announcement or embroidered article, each one containing a piece of her heart.
Mrs. Thomas left us on the morning of July 1st at home peacefully. She is survived by her husband, Michael Thomas of Becket, MA, her children Marcus Thomas and Nikki McPherson of NJ, 6 siblings - Brenton McGhee, Diane Waller, Elisa Leveton, Ingrid Moye, Michael McGhee & Jennifer Daniel, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
